( computer bell blips)( upbeat techno music) – Hey guys, how are you all doing? If you’re new here, welcome, my appoint is Krazy Ken, and today we’re gonna talk about something that’s been buzzing onthe Interwebs recently, Caviar’s Apple 1 iPhone 12 Pro case, who had reportedly ships with a piece of an Apple 1 computerboard inside of the case. Now that’s an improbably rare and valuable patch of computer biography, so that’s sounds pretty insane, but it looks like Caviar hasdone some insane stuff before, so it’s their MO.Many other YouTubers havecovered substance like this before, and MKBHD has definitelytalked about this nonsense before. Recently, he talked about their subject, which has a piece of themoon built into it as well, so Caviar’s been doingthis nonsense for a while. I ever “ve been a little” skepticalabout their produces. I’m not the panel of experts on thingslike golden and all of that substance, so I can’t really tellif that’s fake or not, and I’m clearly nota lord on the moon. I can’t disprove that’s apiece of the moon in that case. I don’t know how any ofthat stuff occupations until now. You find, this produce, that’s a little more in my wheelhouse. Right off the bat, this make is counterfeit. So don’t go spending thenear $10,000 it costs on it.I aim, if you still wanna get one and claim you have a rarepiece of biography with you, sure, but just keep in mind, this is fake, and we will dive into the details soon. But first, I wanted to talk about what kinda tripped my suspicions at first. Really, the things that jaunted my patrolman( buzzer bustles) detector was the notion itself. First off, why would you destroy such a rare and valuablepiece of computer history precisely to make an iPhone case? And second, if the board rightfully was real and you cut it up into articles, you just lost a ton of value there. Apple 1 computers sell for hundreds of thousandsof dollars at auctioneer. Some go up to like 800, $900,000, so why would you break this thing apart and sell phone cases? On the Caviar website, they say there’s only nine accessible, and they sell for $ 9,990 each. So if you multiply that together that’s $89,910 gross in auctions, which is nothing comparedto how much you could get at an auctioneer for the purposes of an Apple 1. Now to be fair, there is also an Apple 1 Lite model, which sells for 4,990, and Caviar says they have4 9 of those available. So that equals $244,510, which is a lot closer to what one may get at an auctioneer for a legit Apple 1. But it still doesn’t seem worth the hassle you would have to face as a company trying to sell dozens of concoction. So again, financially, this obligates no smell. And Caviar kinda provedthis already by themselves. In their concoction video, they show how much money Apple 1 computers can go for at auctioneer, so they kind of alreadydid the math for us, and they showed us whythis product compiles no feel from a business and finance standpoint. So those were the two things that initially jaunted my BS detector. But there’s more to it. Why accurately is this a fake? Let’s take a look. The next red flag were the concoction photos on the Caviar website. They look like CGI interprets, which definitely doesn’thelp prove any legitimacy. Also, their make video presents designings which are not consistentwith the website photos. So those things were makingme a lot more questionable, so I was being cautious now. But something that mademe even more questionable were the photos of the physical committee that they posted on their website. The Apple 1 card on their website has not component solder to it. Throughout all of the research I’ve done I “ve never had” an Apple 1 council, a real Apple 1 board, without the components on it.And in fact, I know anowner of a real Apple 1, Jimmy Grewal, and I asked him about this. He actually too broughtup such concerns on Twitter, and we talked a bit, and he said the same thing. He was like, “I have never seen a board without the components on it already. So that led me to believe that this was just areplica Apple 1 board. There’s a cluster of’ em out there. Jimmy sent me an eBay listingof an Apple 1 replica board, and to me, the boardlooked just like the one Caviar had on their website. And not only that, but some of the photoson the Caviar website are accurate copies of thephotos from the eBay listing. But the government has some cover-ups and other photo manipulations utilized. So it’s fair to say thatCaviar precisely bought the board members, this replica board off eBay, and they’re selling theseoverpriced iPhone cases impersonating it’s a real Apple 1 board, even though it’s not. Now, I can’t confirm the legitimacy or the lack of legitimacyfor Caviar’s other produces, but if this one is bullshit, in my opinion, I think it’s fair to say that 90% of their otherstuff is bullshit, too.One more note, Jimmy istalking to another professional to help confirm thatthis is a replica board, and in the initial the talks with him, the expert did say he’s 100% sure this is a replica board, but he’s only about 90% sure this board is the sameboard as the eBay listing. I’m pretty sure it is, but we’ll tell him get to the final 10%. He was saying he could certainly catch out if he was able to get his hands on a fragment of members of the board, but I highly suspense Caviaris going to release that.So between the three of us, if we can get in touch with Caviar and they can send a piece out, which they probably won’t( titters ), we’ll conducted an investigation into it some more. So the odds are slim we’llget anything out of that, but we’ll receive. Overall, in regards tothe scam-busting episodes I do on Crazy Ken’s Tech Talk, I time wanna help younurture your man detector so you can help yourself and your friends from inadvertently spend too much money on a concoction that’s justsurrounded in fraudulent marketing. So only retain concluding critically, preserve fact-checking, and you’ll live a beautiful live. And if you haven’t checkedout MKBHD’s other videos in regards to Caviar, do check those out, and hey, hopefully he can see this one that I just made, very,’ compel hey, that’d be pretty awesome. And if you’d like to check out the other scam-busting occurrences I did, feel free to check’ em out here, and feel free to subscribe for more tech occurrences every week. And if you meet any other fishy produces you wanna send my course, feel free to time communicate mea tweet or a DM on Twitter. I’m moderately active on Twitter, so that’s a good way to get a hold of me. And hey, if you liked this chapter, you know what to do. Thanks for attaching withme, catch the crazy, and pass it on.( upbeat techno music)( computer bell blips ).
