Theres been a lot of discussion about theiPhone going portless, due to the sheer amount of seeps that have recently been surfacing, like from the very reliable Mark Gurman who says that Apple is already testing some 2021 iPhone models with no accusing port. So its various kinds of outraging to see more andmore rumors showing that we could actually get a portless iPhone as soon as this year. Now while thats pretty exciting, I personallyfeel that the world isnt ready for a altogether portless iPhone. Perfectly ditching the portwould mean that people had a duty to rely only on wireless blaming to charge theirphone. That would also mean that Apple would haveto throw in their expensive $39 MagSafe charger into each and every iPhone box, and itsa bit hard to believe that theyd do this. And on top of that, there are many peoplewho buy thick third-party iPhone cases that might not work that well with wireless charging. So Id candidly have to say that itsa bit too early to switch to fully-wireless charging. However, I have a wholly crazy and mad theoryabout the portless iPhone .. And what portless actually intends .. And if this turns out tobe true .. You guys are gonna be totally blown away by how good of an idea this truly is.. My theory is that the portless iPhone isntgonna be completely portless. Its actually gonna come with a even magnetic connectorin place of the current lightning port, and its gonna inspect excessively same to Applescurrent smart connector on the iPad Pro.This was actually discussed many months back, but Im gonna be taking this idea much further and explaining why it does appreciation. The sentiments started blowing up in my brain afew days ago when we got some very important reveals rumors from Mark Gurman and Ming ChiKuo, who are both very well respected Apple specialists. They both claimed that Apple was bringingback MagSafe charging to the MacBook lineup. If youre not familiar with that, MagSafewas basically a accuse cable that affixed magnetically to the side of a MacBook, withthe central benefit of the cable easily undoing in case somebody jaunted over it. There were a couple of issues with it though, like the bolts being exposed, with a prospect of them get damaged, and on top of that, because the MagSafe port was adjourned into the MacBook itself, it could get clotted upwith dust and potentially metal bits like staples and would have reliability issues. So I think that if Apple is planning to bringMagSafe back to the Mac, its gonna be completely different, with a brand-new modern motif, and thatmakes smell since the part MacBook is supposed to get a brand new design. And to me, it establishes appreciation for the new MagSafeconnector to be either absolutely flush or almost flush with the body so that no dustcan clot or block the rods. Dont worry, youll still be able to chargewith the USB-C ports, but the new MagSafe cable will be the one you get in the box becauseits just so much more safe and opportune. Now to me, it clears ability for Apple to alsobring this same brand-new MagSafe connector to the iPhone as well, and if you think about it, this would actually explain why Apple went back to the perfectly flat area iPhone design. The flat bottom means that you can now use a wholly flush magnetized connector forcharging, same to the smart connector from the iPad lineup. So if both the MacBook and iPhone use thesame MagSafe connector, Apple can mostly originate the same USB-C to MagSafe cables forboth of them, so a long copy would go into the MacBook container, and a shorter version wouldgo into the iPhone box. This makes a whole lot of ability because ifthey exited fully portless, they would absolutely have to throw a much more expensiveMagSafe charger into the box of every iPhone, and that large charger makes up more spaceas well. With the new MagSafe cable, it would be aseasy as swapping out the lightning connector for the new MagSafe version and that wouldbe a more cost effective solution. Now, people would have the choice of usingthe cabled copy of MagSafe or the slower wireless account if they want to pay extrato buy one of those chargers. And just in case you think this is all purespeculation on my part, weve actually had some leaks involving a smart-alecky connector comingto the iPhone. Fudge on flutter has said multiple times thatthe iPhone 13 is getting a smart connector, he even said it would be similar to the iPad, and that 2021 iPhones and onward would be getting them.We even appreciated a similar seep from Jon Prosser, saying that a smart connector will be used for charging on a portless iPhone. But even better than those openings are actualpatents granted to Apple years ago that basically evidence Apple experimenting with a MagSafe stylewired cable, so gives check those out. Way back in March of 2016, Apple was granteda patent for some kind of a stackable Smart connector that can be used to charge multipledevices with one smart-alecky Magnetic connector. Now while that is a bit weird, Apple did proposea variety of different connector alternatives, including a scheme that gapes accurately likea Lightning port, but with magnets built into it. This particular connector wouldnt reallymake sense since it wouldnt change much compared to the current Lightning port, butat least it shows that Apple was experimenting with it.Other than that, Apple prevailed a patent for aninvisible connector port for the iPhone, with some variances even working a self-healing barrierlayer, which is definitely weird, but it again shows that Apple is a desire to making aless discernible port that could help with further waterproofing the iPhone. The patent even showed that Apple was planninga future explanation of the iPads smart connector with an iPhone in mind. And this next patent is the bombshell! In2018, Apple was granted a wholly mind blowing patent for numerou vogues of smart connectors, picturing a very obvious iPhone with flat areas, and remember, this is from 2018. The goal was to make a more robust cable withbetter protected charging contacts, and the patent allowed for a magnetic connection toexchange both supremacy and data. If you think about it, the iPad Pros smartconnector is already capable of doing this. If you didnt already know, the new MagicKeyboard case for the iPad Air and Pro wholly dominances the keyboard and trackpad, and evensends data from the iPad Pros sensors to allow for auto-brightness on the backlit keyboard. The best boast is the pass-through chargingport thats built into the Magic Keyboards hinge. And the most impressive part is that the chargingspeed of the method used joins the rush of the iPads main accuse port, and all ofthis happens through those 3 little contacts on the smart-alecky connector. So if Apple implemented something like thisfor the iPhone, we know that itll be possible to transfer both data and a lot of chargingpower. The patent proves an image of the connector, which is pill mold and has 4 electrical metal contacts for data and superpower. This patent was from 2018, it is therefore possiblethat Apple could nip this pattern to make a more flush magnetic connector. But if youre wondering why Apple woulddo this, let me explain a number of benefits and brand-new pieces. Apples waterproofing is already immense, even with the lightning port, but if Apple switched to a blush magnetic charger motif, it would prevent people from messing up their charge ports by plugging in the lightningcable where reference is not fully dried. So theres a chance that this new MagSafeconnector can allow Apple to determine the next iPhone the first phone ever to get IP69 waterresistance. And this new connector would even make itless prone to salt-water damage, since its so easy to wipe away and cool, compared to thelightning port which has concealed contacts. Other issues with the Lightning port is thatdust and lint can clogged inside of it and prevent your iPhone from accusing. Iveseen quite a few people going to the Genius bar at the Apple store for this very simpleissue that can be fixed with a toothpick. This new MagSafe connector would completelysolve that problem for good, and it would also meet charging so much more convenient. And if Apple is planning to pack this sameMagSafe charging system into the next MacBooks later this year, youd be able to use onecable to charge both your Mac and your iPhone, which is even better. Now you might be asking, why not just switchto USB-C which the MacBook once has? Well, theres a very good reason why Apple hasbeen adhering to Lightning for so many years. If you take a look on Amazon, youll seea assortment of third-party Lightning cables, and for every single cable, Apple blames themanufacturer a$ 4 reward, so Apple compiles gain is not simply on their own Apple branded cables, but every single Lightning cable out there. There are even some MacBook docks that comewith pass-through Lightning audio ports. For those, Apple can accuse two of those$ 4 costs, so it draws gumption why Apple held onto Lightning for so long instead of switching to USB-C. Now my presumption is that the brand-new MagSafe wiredconnector will become the new Lightning, letting Apple to continue to charge a licensing feefor firms who want to implement that connector into their own cables and accessories. But in terms of how itll look, I personallyhope itll look just like the smart-alecky connector, being completely flush with the flat bottom, with the metal contacts coinciding the body color, basically creating an invisiblecharging port. So basically, this is a win-win situationfor Apple. Theyll get rid of Lightning, which everyone is sick and tired of, and theyllreplace it with a brand-new progressive magnetized connection that will solve a whole bunch ofproblems, glance even more sleek and modern, and allow them to continue becoming profit fromlicensing rewards. And with this new port being magnetic, itwill greatly help with the transition of wholly getting rid of cabled cable accuse and switchingto exclusive wireless blaming in the future. If you disagree with my presumption on how Applewill implement the portless iPhone, go ahead and statement your thoughts below andclick that clique above to subscribe if you enjoyed this video.
