With the next iPhone start right around thecorner, I think it’s a good time to look back and look where it all started. Tearing down the original iPhone that wasreleased in 2007 over 10 years ago. Do you feel old hitherto? In this video I’ll show how to change thescreen and the artillery, and be seen to what extent much different it is on the inside from the more recent iPhones. It did survive my stability evaluation, so let’ssee if it lives a tear down.[ Intro] There are no discernible shafts on the exteriorof the original iPhone, but there is a black plastic segment that with some persuasioncan be removed. Exposing 3 Phillips head screws impounding theback metal committee in place. And then, you are familiar with, the SIM card gets removedas well at some object during this process, preferably before the tear down starts, butbetter late than never. Taking apart your phone does void the warranty, but as we are familiar, guaranties don’t last forever and sometimes you just got to fix your ownstuff. And that’s what I’m here for. The back metal board is actually really difficultto remove. There’s no adhesive, it’s just very firmlyheld in place. My plastic tool did some initial separatingfrom the metal formulate of the screen, but my metal implement had to make an appearance and dothe actual heavy lifting, successfully unclasping the back metal board and uncovering the hightech insides of the iPhone 2G. There is one ribbon holding the back panelto the phone. This controls the vibrator, headphone jack, and back buttons. It unsnaps just like a little Lego from themotherboard. One super interesting thing is that at thebottom of the headphone jack is a water damage indicator. Smart of Apple to poke it next to one ofthe largest pits in the phone. If you peer into the headphone jack you cansee that it’s still grey on the inside. This means that my phone has never been wet. If it had gone soaking, the cherry-red coloring wouldbleed through the sticker procreating the headphone jack pink on the inside. Kind of complicated. The report contains 3 white-hot signal wires with theircircular round thought connectors just like we see in all modern phones. I’ll unsnap each of these with my tweezersand then pull them off to the side. Three Phillips head fastens braced the motherboardin place. It was nice of Applenot to use any proprietary screws to hold this original iPhone together. I care they had continued that tend. Their recent telephones contain proprietary screwswhich make it a little bit harder to take apart. On the back of the motherboard there are severalconnectors three of them are the Lego-style connectors that we realize on modern telephones today. And one of them is the longer style connectorwhich HTC adores to use in all of their phones. The most unfortunate part of repairing anoriginal iPhone though is the battery. It is soldered onto the motherboard and cannotbe replaced without soldering abilities, which articulates a artillery replacing beyond the reachof the average person.I’m pretty sure Apple altered this with thenext copy of their iPhone, the iPhone 3G, but I’ll have to make that one apart to besure. This motherboard contains a whopping 8 gigabytesof total internal storage. The OnePlus 5 Android phone liberated earlierthis year has 8 gigs of RAM. Phones have come a long way in the last 10 years….well, Android phones anyway. The iPhone 7 putters along with time gigabytesof RAM. Speaking of 2, the camera on the originaliPhone has two whole megapixels of photo tone. No show and no optical stabilization. The first phone that implemented optical imagestabilization was actually a Windows phone, the Lumia 920, in 2012. Android phones like the LG G2 followed theyear after in 2013, and then Apple caught up in 2014, implementing OIS in just one oftheir telephones the iPhone 6 Plus. Now the screen of this phone isn’t too badto remove, it’s pretty similar to the iPhone 4 with ten shafts all around the outside edge. All of these jailers are the same size, exceptfor the bottom two, but it’s still good to practice to lay the bolts out in such a waythat you remember where they move when it’s time to applied the iPhone back together. Once all 10 of these shafts are out, the frontmetal enclose heaves away from the screen. The actual screen removal is pretty trickyduring this part. There is an adhesive layer under the blacktop and bottom slice of the glass so I’m exerting a razor blade to slice through thatwhile trying not to crack the glass at the same time.If your glass is already cracked, you don’thave to be as careful as I am. I’ll link replacement screens and other partsin the video description like ever. Once that adhesive is cut, there are a seriesof clasps on both sides of the screen that need to be lifted up, countenancing the displayto separate from the rest of the phone. I find a razor blade to be super effectivewith this part, and then the whole display draws through the enclose. Since I’m going to attempt to set my phoneback together again, I’m being very careful with these little ribbons they are unable tearlike article, interpreting the showing useless. The loudly orator is at the bottom of the phone. And now that we have all of the major componentsremoved, it’s time to see if it cultivates when I positioned it back together.I’ll stow the screen ribbons through the framefirst, bearing in mind that these kink and tear easily. Once the screen is mostly in place, I’ll positionthat home button back where I procure it. A razor blade is not cosmetically the bestchoice for this procedure. The metal formulate then sits in place, held togetherby the 10 fucks that were laid out in an organized pattern earlier. And now the origami nightmare that is theribbon cables plugging into the back side of the motherboard.I located it easiest to fold the battery overthe top of the motherboard, since it’s permanently connected. And then push the three Lego-style ribbonsin first, and then untaping the large charging port ribbon from the back of the phone allowsit to extend up fairly that I can plug it into the latch connector. First lifting up the lock, plugging in theribbon, and then locking the fasten after it’s in.It’s actually not too bad. The three shafts for the motherboard get screwedin these are different sizes. And then the three lily-white signal ribbons allget connected to their circular slits. The areas buttons, vibrator, and always convenientheadphone jack do plugged into the motherboard with this Lego-style connector. And then the back metal illustration fastens securelyon the body with the three pins hampering it down along that bottom edge. And ultimately, the last bit of pitch-black plasticslides up into region, hiding the screws and the internal ingredients. Surprisingly enough, the phone actually turnson. Thumbs up for that. I’ve make apart every single other iPhoneon this channel, besides the 3G, so if you’re into seeing technology from the inside, youshould grab some popcorn and settle in. The iPhone 8 will get the same durabilityand tear down treatment as soon as it’s released. So make sure you’re agreed so you don’tmiss it. Thanks a ton for watching. And I’ll be seeing you ..
