iPhone – The Complete Beginners Guide

In this video, I'll give you a
complete beginner's guide to your new iPhone. That's all you need to
know to be an iPhone expert so
you know how to use your brand new phone. Now this works for every
iPhone after the iPhone X. So every iPhone that has a
full face display doesn't have a home button. As you can see, this is
a full-screen iPhone. So iPhone X iPhone XS iPhone
eleven like this 111 Pro eleven pro max that's
what we're going to show you today, how to use your
new iPhone.

We will now be using this iPhone
Eleven and an iPhone X throughout the video. We've filmed some of this
now, some of this earlier, showing you step-by-step
how it all works. And this whole video is
divided into sections which you can find below. Everything is meant to
turn you into an iPhone expert so you know how to
use your iPhone. So without further ado, let's
take a look at the complete beginner's guide to
your new iPhone. Now, before we dive right
into the phone itself, we wanted to show you some of the
physical features of your new iPhone
so you know what we're talking about when we refer to them
later in the video.

So, of course, on the
front you have the screen, and a new part of the iPhone X is that the
screen goes from top to bottom, so there's no home button anymore
. Now we'll get into the buttons
and gestures a bit later in the video, but it's important
to note that the side button is the one you'll be
interacting with a lot. It's up here on the
top right side of your phone. Now the recommended grip for
your phone is just like that. So as you can see, the
index finger of the left hand rests easily on the
side button so that you can press it like you would with your index finger. Now, if we take a look at the
other side of the phone, you can see that we have
our mute switch. So as you can see,
when the mute switch is turned on, it shows red. This means that
your phone is silent and will not make a sound when you receive sms,
notifications or alerts. Now if this is forward,
it means it is silent and your phone will
ring as usual.

Below that, we have a
volume rocker. It's a little harder to
see because I have the Space Gray Edition. But as you can see here, you
have volume up and volume down. Now these are also used in several
different functions that we will show you later in the video. Now, if you take a look at the
back, obviously the main part of the back of
your phone is the rear camera pointing up here along with
the flash. And we'll go into the camera
again later in the video. I just wanted to point out a few
things here first.

Now, below we have the speakers
and microphone as well as the Lightning port, which is
where you'll plug your phone in to charge. Or if you're using
regular headphones with the Lightning adapter, you can
plug them in there. Now, again, on the
front, you also have your speaker for when you're
talking on the phone right at the top, as well as your
front-facing camera, which will also serve as
Face ID. Now, throughout this
video, you can see some lights flashing up at the top. Now you won't see these
in person. They are slightly purple. The reason you see these is
because Face ID sends out some infrared sensors and
unfortunately, the camera picks them up.

So I just wanted to clear
that up if you're wondering. Okay, so those are the
physical features of the iPhone. Now we'll take a look at some
of the extra accessories that come with your phone and how to
use them. So now we're going to take
a look at some of the accessories that come with your iPhone X. Now, the most important,
of course, is your wall adapter, the brick. Now this will allow you to
plug this directly into your wall. And all you have to do
is put the USB cable right in the back, like
this. And then the end of the
Lightning connector, which is the other side of that cable, looks exactly like
this.

It's a Lightning connector,
it goes right to the bottom of your iPhone X. And once it's plugged
into the wall, it will charge your iPhone just like that. Also included in the box are your
Apple EarPods , which of course, you
can use to listen to music any video you are
watching on your device. You put these in
your ears, denouncing the sides, L for left, R for
right, and then you clip the other end, which is again,
a Lightning connector, right into your phone like that, right at the
end, So simple .

And then you are able
to listen to music or whatever video you happen to be
watching. Now, one thing to
quickly notice is the little control area here on your headphones. Now this actually has a
built in microphone as well. So that means you can
take calls just using your ear buds,
which is great. Now there is volume up and volume
down. And then you can use the
center button once to play Pause.

If you press and hold the
center button, you will actually activate Siri. Watch this And then you can ask
Siri whatever you want. We'll get into how to
interact with Siri a little later in the video. But it's important to know the
different functions you can use on the earbuds
to activate Siri. One more thing you'll find
in the box is Apple's Lightning to
3.5mm jack adapter. So this allows you to
plug the Lightning connector back into your phone,
but then use whatever set of headphones you have that has a 3.5mm jack
with your iPhone. This is great because it
means you can use your favorite pair of
headphones with your iPhone even though it has the Lightning connector. Now, we will show you how to
turn on your phone. Turn off your phone as well as
do an emergency reboot if there is some kind of bug in
your phone and you can't do anything with it if it freezes. We'll show you how
it all works now. Now, the easiest way to
turn on your phone, if it has only been in sleep mode,
which is regular, just turn it off like this.

Just press the
Side button like this. And as you can see, the
phone turns on. Face ID, it will scan
your face, and don't worry, we 'll get into Face ID a little
later in the video. And then what you'll be
able to do is just scroll up from the bottom
and access your phone like that. Now, to turn it off, just
press the Side button again and the phone will sleep just like that. Now, this isn't
completely turning off the phone. We'll show you how to do
that in a second. But one last way you can
turn it on. And that's actually new with the
iPhone X. Say your phone is on the
table. You want to check the time
or see if you received any notifications.

All you have to do
is just press and you will wake up your phone just like that. You can see any notification,
you can check the time. It's very easy like that. Now, as I mentioned before,
when you're just hitting the Side button, you're just putting the phone to sleep. It 's not fully powered
because as you can see, it's ready to turn on at a moment's
notice. Now, you can compare this
to how you put your computer to sleep or just
log off your computer because it doesn't completely shut down the
computer itself.

Now, when you actually shut down
your computer, it completely shuts down the computer you have. It has the same feature for iPhone. Now, what we recommend you
do is completely turn off your iPhone at least
once a month, and that's shutting it down completely. So the way to do this
is to press and hold both the Side button and the
Volume Up button at the same time. Side button and volume up
button. As you can see, this brings up
this menu. We will talk more about
emergency SOS later in the video. This is a very useful feature
and can keep you safe in an emergency. We'll cover that later. But for now, what we're
interested in is the slide to power off.

Slide like that. And as you can see, now
you have completely turned off your phone. Now, this is important
to do at least once a month because it refreshes
your phone, making sure it won't be so sluggish. It's like turning your computer off
and back on. It helps to make sure
everything is working properly. So I recommend you do
this at least once a month. And also if things are
starting to slow down on your phone, I recommend
doing this. And this should help to
get it. As you can see here, you
cannot press the screen to turn it back on. You can't even press the
side button to go back. The way to turn on
your phone is to press and hold the side button like this. And as you can see, it appears
with the Apple logo. It should load in just a
second like this. Here we begin. Pops up with the Apple logo and it
should power on the phone.

Order. And now your phone is
back to power and it's just been completely recycled. It's closed and back
again. Now you can face the issue. And by the way, when you
reset, you have to set your password again. I only have one idiotic password
for this video, 123456. Of course, I recommend
doing something a little more complicated for your passcode, and
we'll show you how to set it up a little later. But for now, if you run
into a problem where, let's say you're in an app and
it happens to freeze and you can't do anything else, let's
simulate that. Say you're in the
settings app, it freezes completely. You can't do anything else. You can't hold the
power button and the volume up button to actually turn off
your phone. You're stuck and you don't know what to
do. Well, what you need to do is
to do a force restart of your phone. And the way to do that
is to press the power up button or the volume up button which
is volume up and then volume down.

And then press and hold the
side button for 10 seconds. And this will force
reset your phone just like that. As you can see, it turns off
the phone completely without having to slide. And it's the same kind of method
that was used before. However, the only reason you do
this is if you run into a problem or run into an error
where you can't restore the regular way. Because if you have something on
your phone that isn't saved, it won't save it, it
'll just go right back and restart
your phone. So this is just in case you run
into a problem. But if you run into an issue,
it's important to know how to fix it. So again, the way you would
do this is press volume up, volume down,
and then press and hold the side button for 10 seconds. So that's how to
turn your phone on and off completely
, which we recommend doing at least once a month,
or if your phone becomes stale, and how to force
reset your phone.

If you are encountering a bug,
your phone freezes and you don't know what to do. Now, we're going to show you
all the different gestures and button presses you need
to use for your iPhone to fully interact
with it. Now, we'll start here on the
lock screen. Of course, we told you once you
turn on your phone by clicking the side button,
all you have to do is scroll up to access
your phone itself. Now of course, to access
apps, just press them and it will pull up the
apps.

Now, to exit these
apps, you just need to scroll down and as you
can see, it closes the app itself. Just put it up and close
the app. Now, to quickly switch
between different apps, you can do that
using this bar right here at the bottom. All you have to do is
browse like this and you'll get to the next app
you were in before. Put it back and you'll get
to the next app. After that, all you have to
do is flip back and forth between apps
using this simple bar at the bottom. Now, if you're looking
to find an app you've had open relatively
quickly, or close other apps you might
have running in the background. The way you do that is you
hold this bar, pull back, but instead of closing
completely, just hold it there for a second. Now, this may take a few
tries, but once you get the hang of it, it should come
naturally to you.

So get up and hold on. And as you can see, you now
go into Multitasking, where you can see all the
different apps you have open. Now, to access them, just
tap and it will bring you to that app. Now, if we go back
there again, we will show you how you can close applications. So if you wanted to close an
app, all you have to do is press and
hold. And as you can see, it shows up
with the little red delete icon. Now, this doesn't delete the
app, don't worry. This just closes the app
running on your phone. So it will close the
app itself, just like that. Close the application. You can also mud
up to get the same effect.

Now, if you want to close
all apps on your phone, just
close all apps right here. And as you can see now we
don't have any running apps. Now, we already showed you
how to turn on and off your phone. And again, we showed you that
in the last section using the Side button,
of course, Powering Down with the Side button and the Top
Volume button. But I also wanted to
show you another feature that we mentioned earlier
that we kind of alluded to. If you press and hold the
Side button and the Volume Up button at the same time, in addition to
sliding to Power off, you also get the emergency SOS function
.

And the reason I wanted to
tell you this is because this feature is actually very
serious. It has the potential to
save you from a dangerous situation. Hopefully you never have to
use it, but in case you do, it's good to know it
's there. So Emergency SOS if you
browse this will actually automatically call
Emergency Services for you and alert whoever is listed in
your health app as an
emergency contact and we'll show you how to set that up
later in the video, she will actually text them that you should have called
911.

Now, this is important
to note just in case it ever comes up. Hopefully you never have to
use it. But I wanted to point this out
so you have it available and are
prepared. Now, another way to
set this up so that you can actually access this
just by pressing the Side button five times is to go to
Settings. And I recommend that everyone
watch this video go in and decide this
because again, it's better to be prepared. Hopefully you never
have to use this, but I want to show you how to set
it up just in case. So you're going to go to
Settings, you're going to scroll down to Emergency SOS
right here. And then as you can see,
usually what it would have is just this auto-call,
which is what we showed you before. If you press and hold the
Volume up and Side button and then you say emergency SOS it
will automatically call the Emergency Services, it
will also sms your emergency contacts to
let them know that you have called the emergency services
as well. Now, I recommend that this
feature also works with five clicks because that
way you can access Emergency Services without
having to scroll through your phone much faster.

And you do that by pressing the
Side button right here, again the Side button five times
and it will automatically call the
Emergency Services and alert your emergency contacts. Now, that's valid. Say you have your phone in your pocket. If you encounter a
dangerous situation, you can press the button five times and be
sure that it will then call the
Emergency Services. Now again, hopefully you
never have to use this. However, in an emergency, it
's important to know it exists. Now, again, to set up
Emergency Contacts and Health that it will send a
message if you encounter an emergency. Now this of course, is
in addition to calling 911 or whatever your
emergency equivalent is, you can click the button right here,
put in your emergency contacts and health, and
that will allow you to plow through family and friends that you would
like to be contacted at case of an emergency. Again, hopefully you don't have to
use this, but it's good to be prepared.

Now we'll show you how to
activate Siri. Access your
control center and notification center right here from
your phone. Now, to access Siri,
all you have to do is press and hold the
Side button like this. Did you call me by accident? I don't. Hello, Siri. Good day. Alaric. Here we begin. And as you can see,
all you have to do is press and hold on the
side button and then you can enter Siri
just like that. Now the other way to get
into Siri is to say, hey, Siri, Like this, and
they actually have another phone here that also went away, which
is kind of funny. But it will also let you access
Siri, either by pressing and holding the side button,
or by saying these words, hey, followed by Siri. If I say it too soon, it will
activate now. So now we're going to
show you and again, we're going to get into everything you can
do with Siri later in the video, there's a whole section dedicated to
Siri. I just wanted to show you how to
access it now.

Now here's how you can access
your lock screen. Now the way to access
your lock screen is to swipe down from the top
left of your phone. And as you can see, you have the
lock screen here. We'll get into more
features of the lock screen as well as the
home screen a bit later in this video. Now, to access the
Control Center, all you have to do is drop down
from the top right. And as you can see, you have
your own full control center here with all these
great features. We'll show you everything you
need to do and know about the Control Center. Again, in another part,
I just wanted to show you how to get into it. And finally, the last thing we're
going to show you how to get in from here is to get off the
hub. Now you actually have to go
down a bit.

So go down from
the center there. And this will pull up the
Spotlight search. So you can search for an
app you are looking for. Say, for example, the weather. You can attract the weather like that. This will allow you to search
your entire iPhone, including your text messages and
emails if you have it enabled in Settings. So that way you can
find apps you're looking for, emails you're looking for. It's a great way
to control your phone. So these are all the
different ways to access your device,
including all the buttons and all the gestures you need to
know. Now we'll take a look at some
of the basic communication apps based on
your phone. Don't worry, we'll
dive into all the other apps like Weather,
Clock, Calendar, Camera a little later. But for now, we want to
show you the main communication apps and the
navigation app just so you can get a feel for what the
main components of your phone are like. What you're really looking to do
is sort of standardize your device. Now of course, we have the
Mail app where when you first click on it, you
'll be presented with Welcome to Mail, where you can
connect your mail, your email account that
is.

So say you have Gmail,
just click on Google, type in your email or
phone number, and then your password, and you'll
get your entire inbox right here. So you can reply to
emails, read emails, send new emails
directly from the Mail app. Now, on the bottom
left, of course we have our phone equipped with a
keypad. So this is in the
keypad section where you can call whatever number you are
looking to call. You can also view
Favorites. So these are people you
have saved in your favorites. If you want to add someone
new from your contact list, just click the
plus icon. Now recently
recent calls call the story you have. Of course Voicemail has
any voice messages if they leave those calls. And then Contacts is
your complete list of contacts by phone number. You can click on them and
call them. You can even add them to
your Favorites as we just showed you.

Of course, we also have messengers
or messages. Here you can log in here and
send messages to other people. Of course, just click on
Imessage. You can type a text
for them. This works as an Imessage if
you're texting another person with an iPhone, or as
a generic text if you're texting someone
who doesn't have an iPhone. We also wanted to
show you Safari. And of course we have
Safari down here too. And to go to a
website, you just click on the top and you can do a
Google Search or type in the exact URL of a
website, say, for example, Apple, and it will
take you directly on that page, of course, nice iPhone X
right there. Now, in order to switch
between pages, just click the little page icon
down here, and you can actually add a new tab by
clicking the plus icon, open a private
navigation window, or browse between different pages that
you've opened and of course, close them by clicking the
little X at the top.

So if we wanted to add a
new page, let's say we wanted to go to YouTube. We can click on YouTube
right there. And as you can see, it opens
YouTube in a brand new page. To switch between them, just
click the Little Switcher and you can go back to Apple. If you want to close one
of them, just click the little X in the top left and
it will close that page. Now, if you want to save a
page to your Favorites or save it to your BOOKMARKS,
just click this little button right here. And as you can see, you
can actually send it either as a message or mail, or you can
add it to your BOOKMARKS or your favorites. Your favorites are the ones
we showed you earlier on your website,
adding it to your BOOKMARKS. This will add it as a
bookmark to your phone so you can come back and
find it later.

So now I'm going to show you
how you can get this incredible app
so you can earn cash and rewards just for
completing simple surveys on your iPhone. So open
your Safari mobile browser and go to this exact URL. It's a bit lee B-I-T-L-Y get
quick thoughts. Like this bit Ly
getquickthoughts. And the link is also
down there in the description too. And then click go. Be sure to go to this
link. It helps to support
our show, but it's also going to make sure that you get the
best surveys and rewards right here on Quick
Thoughts when you download it and be able to
get those extra bonus missions right there at the beginning, or
bonus surveys to be able to sign Up. So go to quick thoughts
and then click open. And as you can see, you are
able to get the Quick Thoughts app. This app allows you to
complete surveys, earn rewards, earn cash
, gift cards. You're going to go ahead and
click Sign Up on the bottom left, and then as you
can see, they love opinions.

Click Register and then
click Agree to terms and conditions. And as you can see here,
Quick Thoughts has already awarded over $21 million to
members. This is absolutely
incredible. You can earn
cash rewards just for using this app. So click start earning
rewards. Fill in some details of
your information just so they know a little more about you
so they can serve you the best surveys. And that's what you'll be
able to use right here at Quick Thoughts. And as you can see, you'll
be able to click Begin Earning Rewards and
get your share of the over $21 million they've
given away. Now, if we go back to the App
Store, you can see a little bit of what this looks like. As you can see, you can
earn rewards just by taking really simple surveys. And a very
simple survey can earn you a few dollars each.

And they also have
different missions, surveys that you can do. There are all kinds of
surveys in the Quick Thoughts app, and you can
get instant cash once you've taken and
completed the survey. So I highly recommend
going to bite lee getquickthoughts. They are our sponsor for this
episode. But it's also a
big win because you'll learn how to earn
amazing money and rewards just for completing
simple surveys right here on your iPhone. Enjoy. Now, we will show you how
Face ID and passcode work on your iPhone X. So Face ID works by
scanning your face and allowing you to access
your phone directly. Now, you will see this in
action. If I look away, turn on
my phone.

If I look at the phone, as you can
see the little lock unlocks, that means
Face ID is recognized and I can unlock the phone. But what you may not know
is that Face ID also works for purchases you make in the App Store,
purchases you make with Apple Pay, and also authenticating
your user identity in various functions on
your iPhone. So if it needs to
verify that you are who you say you are, it will scan your
face ID and double check. Now, I wanted to show you how to
set your password and also change
your face ID if you need. So the way to do this
is to open the settings app and then
scroll down until you see Face ID and passcode.

Just like that, you'll want to
enter your passcode. I just did something simple. 123456. Of course, you should have a
more complex passcode. This is for the purposes of
this video only. So here you can see
what you want to use your Face ID for. So in this case, the iPhone
unlocks Apple Pay, itunes and the App Store, and also Safari
Autofill, which is automatic password remembering
if you want to use that as well. Now, those four functionalities you
can change if you wanted to. If you want to use Face ID
for everything, keep them all turned on. If you don't actually want to
use Face ID for some reason, you can turn
all of these off and it won't scan your face. Now, if you want to use it for
some but not all, you can adjust these sliders
accordingly. Now, if you scroll down,
this is actually a very nice feature here. And this is attention to
conscious characteristics just like that. Now, Attention Aware Features
means that if you have this turned on, which I
recommend you enable it, if you're looking at
your phone, it won't actually dim the screen or
turn off the phone while you're looking at it.

looked at it. You feel that you are looking at the phone
and know how to keep it on with previous devices and
other phones on the market. The phone says it's reading
something or watching a video, it might dim because it is. You don't think you're actually
looking at your phone screen with this enabled. Whenever you're looking at
your screen, it'll make sure it stays
on and doesn't fade or turn off on you. Now, if you need to
reset Face ID for any reason, just click this
button, Reset Face ID, and it will automatically go
through the process of setting up Face ID again. Now, the reason we didn't
show you this at the beginning of the video, how to set this up or
how to set the passcode first is because Apple
should have actually walked you through the process.

So you just have to follow the
steps that Apple shows you in order to set up Face ID. It's the same if you
need to reset it, click that button and Apple will walk you
through, step by step, the entire process to reset. Now, it's the same for the
passcode. You can change your
passcode, and this is your typed code. It can be a number. It can also be a
word type passcode or a combination of both. You can change this by
clicking Change Passcode. Now, take a look here. You can also see
what you'll allow access to while you're logged in. So this is the lock screen.

So here, as you can see,
what do you have access to while the phone is locked? And you can change this
here at the bottom. We have to go back again. So let's say you don't want
people to see your text messages when
your phone is locked. You can turn off Today's View
and Recent Notifications so that people won't be
able to actually read your sms or
read the notifications you have on your phone until you
actually unlock the phone itself. Now, one last thing I wanted
to show you is to ask for your passcode. And when that's necessary,
if you click here, you can have your passcode or be
prompted right away or if you turn off Face ID, there are
other options where you don't need to match your passcode right away
.

You can wait a few minutes or
leave it to not log in automatically. Although when Face ID is
turned on, the only option is to always ask for your
passcode. So now we wanted to
show you some lock screen functionality and
also how you can change your wallpaper. So first we'll
show you the lock screen. Of course, it unlocks when
you look at your phone. If it goes to the right like
this, it will attract today's view. Now, what it allows you to do
is, of course, see the time, the date.

Shows you some suggestions about the
application. It shows you your calendar, what
is the next event. It shows you some
app suggestions such as the last apps you have
opened. Of course, we have Dosh there since
before. Again, I recommend getting
that app. It's fantastic. Some other apps that
we have and if we scroll down you can see that we also have
news, we have weather. It's really very much a
live update of what's happening right now that's
available very easily right from the
lock screen. Just swipe right and enter
this screen.

Now also if you want to
search on your phone, just press the
little search icon and you can search anything you're looking for
right there from that search functionality. Now if we go back, we can
also swipe to the left which will bring up our
camera app so we can start taking photos very
quickly. Now not many people know
this. You can go straight to the
camera right from the lock screen with just a swipe, and
that way you don't have to worry about going to
your phone, clicking on the camera app when you're
trying to take an impromptu photo. Sometimes good pictures
are too short. So just turn on
your phone with the side button and then scroll to
the left and immediately access your camera like that. So we'll just
go back. Now as we can see here,
you also have the ability to drag into Control Center
from the top right. And we'll actually go
over the Control Center next. So stay tuned, we
'll show you how everything works here.

And if you want to access
your camera again, another way is by 3D touch
which is pressing a little harder on the camera icon. Ditto for the
handheld electric. If you press a little harder, it
will automatically turn on a flashlight just like that. This can be
extremely useful. Only 3D touch on it. Again, you just have to
press a little harder and it will automatically turn it
back off. So this is the lock screen. Now we'll take a look at how you
can change the lock screen wallpaper as well as the home
screen wallpaper .

Now this wallpaper here, this
is the home screen and the lock screen is when
your phone is on. So I just want to make this
distinction. Now let's take a look at how
you can change the wallpapers in your settings. So here's how you can
change the wallpaper on your iPhone. You 'll open settings and
then scroll down until you see
Wallpaper. Click on Wallpaper and then
as you can see, you can choose a new wallpaper
right at the top. Now you can go through you
can take a look at Dynamics. These are dynamic wallpapers. They actually move like
so these are actually pretty cool. Or you can go through some
of these other tabs like Live Stills.

These are wonderful. If you take a look at these, if you
touch them or do 3D touch, you can see that they actually
move like that. This is very nice. There is Perspective Mode
as well. And then there's still going back. Let's take a look. Also, you can browse through
all your photos and find one there. Let's say you found a
new photo that you like. Just click on it,
click Set, and you can either choose to set it as your
lock screen, home screen, or both. The lock screen is again
the screen when you first turn on your phone. And the home screen is the
screen you see behind all your apps. Of course, you can set it as
both. So you just hit Set
there and it would add both your new wallpaper to
your lock screen and home screen. Now we're going to show you how
your control center works on your iPhone.

Again, to access the
control center, you'll go down from the top right,
like so. And as you can see here,
this has a variety of different icons. We'll go over each
of these and then how to customize your
control center as well. Now in the first left hand corner
, you can see that we have our
airplane mode. We also have mobile phones. We have WiFi and Bluetooth. Airplane mode now
lets you turn off your phone. WiFi and Bluetooth say
you're on a plane. This is the way you will
put it. Now if you want to turn off WiFi
or turn on WiFi, just press that button. Bluetooth, same thing. And as well as cellular. Now you can also see
connectivity at the very top left, like you can see
Verizon, how many bars you have and then WiFi and how many bars
you have as well.

At the top right, you can
see Weather, Do Not Disturb and Bluetooth are on, as
well as battery and battery percentage. Now, next to this, you will see
a small control panel. That is whether you are watching
YouTube or listening to music. You can hit play, pause,
go forward, go back. It's a lightweight
access control panel for whatever app you're using that
uses audio functionality. Now for the lock rotation,
which is this button right here, what that means is it's
going to lock it in portrait orientation. So let's say you're
going on Safari. Want to read your phone
And it happens to be tilted this
way. It will still keep it in
portrait mode. So it will keep it
all straight down. Even if you return, it won't actually
return it. So the best way to
actually tell you is in Safari. Let's take a look at Apple. So this is without the mode
enabled.

If we turn the phone, as you
can see, the whole screen turns with it. But if we enable,
oh, yes, we rotate the shot down again. It takes a little getting used to. This is it. Now in the top
right instead of the bottom like before. At the top right bottom, add the
portrait orientation switch, and as you can see, if
we turn the phone around, it stays the same way. Okay, great. So let's go back to the
Control Center and turn it off. Next to that is don't
worry. So the reason I have this
now is because I'm making a video. But if I turned off Do Not
Disturb, I'll get any notifications that come to me.

And that means I'll
get calls, I'll get sms, I 'll get
app notifications, whatever. However, if you have Do Not
Disturb on, then what this means is that you will not
be notified either visually, which is
right at the top, or via a sound or a buzz when
you receive a new sms. So don't worry it is
very helpful. If you're on a date, turn on Do
Not Disturb. If you're doing something like
driving, you don't want to be distracted.

Turn it on. Don't worry. Now, next to that as well,
we have the brightness settings. You can turn it up or
down, depending on what you would like, and the
volume adjustments as well. Now, here's another thing
to notice. If you tap 3D brightness,
which is pressed a little harder, you can also toggle
True Tone on and off, which takes in the background lighting around you and
adjusts the tone accordingly. So if it gets darker
at night, it will adjust the tone to have a little more
softer colors. You can also have
Night Shift as well to turn this on. This is an even more
exaggerated version of this, where it will help protect
your eyes at night. So if you turn on the night shift
and you can also program this also Turn on until 07:00. a.m. As you can see, it gets
rid of some of the blue on the screen. And it better helps
your eyes adjust at night so you're not
getting that blue light that can really make it
hard to sleep.

So we're going to turn it off now and
go outside. Screen Mirroring allows you to
mirror your phone's screen to a device, like
your laptop or if you're hooking it up to a
projector, that sort of thing. Of course, we have
flashlights, pretty self-explanatory there. We have access to a timer,
calculator, and of course the camera. Now we're going to show you how
you can actually customize Control Center
and add very cool functionality like this, which is
a video recording feature for your iPhone. So let's take a look at
how to customize the Control Center. You can customize the
Control Center by going to Settings and then
clicking Control Center. Now, you also have
the ability to login within apps or not. So say you're playing games
and you don't want to touch the side of the screen to pull up
Control Center. You can turn it off. I always like to wear it. But if we go to Control or
Customize Control Center, you can see here that you can
remove some of the additional features and
add all kinds of amazing things.

So we have already added
screen recording which allows you to record only
the video of your screen. It's very nice. We also have all
these other capabilities as well such as Do Not Disturb While
Driving. This is a
great feature. So basically when you
enable this, it means that when the phone senses that you
're actually driving, it will
automatically send an sms to someone who's texting you and say, I'm going to I'll
text you when I get to my place. So this is a
nice feature. You can add alarm to. You can add
low power mode. There are all kinds of
great things you can add to your Control Center. I recommend adding
low power mode and don't worry while
driving. There are a few other good ones,
but those are the ones I recommend right now.

So as you can see,
when you turn on Do Not Disturb While Driving, you
will not receive notifications while you are driving and it
will also send sms to your friends. If they text you and
let them know you're driving, you'll text them back when
you get to your place. Again, the alarm has. Also recording
your screen and then low power mode is one I
really recommend adding here. Because what it's going to let you
do is when you turn it on, it's going to save your
battery life by getting rid of some of the kinds of
smaller features that are available on your phone
that take a lot of battery.

So if you turn on
low power mode, it will save some of
your battery life. This is a great widget
to add. But anyway, you can
explore a bit and see the different customization you
can add to the Control Center. It's a bit about exploration,
so I recommend you take a look at those
different functionalities right there on the premises,
adding things you find interesting and seeing how they
work. Now we'll show you how to
use Siri on your iPhone. Now there's a lot you can
do with Siri. There is a lot to show you in
this video or in this clip that is. However, I'm actually going to
show you a really cool way that you can find
additional things that you can ask Siri very easily.

So how to enter Siri, you
can either press and hold the Side button like this And then just say
your command. You can close it again
by pressing the Side button again, or you can say hey
Siri. And as you can see, it appears
that way. Now I'll show you some
examples, but then I'll also show you how you can
discover your own and get a really good resource to
see what you can ask Siri. It's a lot of fun to
explore, so I just recommend trying
new things and seeing what works. But anyway, here's an example. What's the weather like in Boston? Here's the forecast for Boston
today. As you can see, this gives you
the forecast for Boston right here with Siri.

Another thing you can
ask is Send an sms to Tristan. What do you mean? Greetings. Ready to ship? Send I will send it. Order. And this comes in handy
if you need to send someone a quick sms and
want to dictate what they say. This also works well
if you're driving because you obviously can't
text while driving. You want to say the words to her verbally and
she will add them and automatically send them to
whoever you are trying to send them to. So these are just a few
great examples of what you can do with Siri.

But here's what I recommend
asking Siri to see all kinds of things you can
ask her this question. Follow. What can I ask you? All you have to do
is ask Siri, what can I ask you? And then as you can see
here, it gives you a lot of suggestions like under the call,
such and such. Call different numbers. Under FaceTime. FaceTime different people. App. You can even say launch. Photo. It will launch that application. If you scroll down here, you
can see messages. You can say, tell Suzanne I
'll be there.

Send a message to Brian. All kinds of
different things. With the calendar, you can
set meeting events. You can change the events
if you scroll down. This is really nice. You can actually translate
things with Siri. So you can say,
translate, say something and then say it to French
or Spanish and it will do it automatically. Sports, you can ask if
your favorite team won. The pictures you can see,
show me all my pictures from yesterday. Go to the camera. You can scan QR codes,
take pictures, maps, give directions at home. Roll down here. You can see restaurants,
you can have it.

Even book reservations. See different opening times
. Movies and TV shows,
you can find thrillers, all kinds of
different things. Music, you can have it. Play several types of music. Reminders, you can set
a reminder. Remind me to call home
or call mom. Whatever happens, you can
have it. Send emails. Check. The weather. Check. Stock prices, check. Actually, that's
great. You can say, set an
alarm for X time. So at 6:30 in the
morning, it will automatically set an alarm on
your phone.

Contacts, you can ask
what is someone's address, where is Brian to find
my friends. Add notes. So note that I have to
pay someone $10 no matter what. Settings you can turn on,
airplane mode. You can search on the web. You can ask Siri questions
such as how many ounces are in a liter? When is Mardi Gras? All these
different things. Books and podcasts. There are all kinds of amazing things
you can do. And I know I said I wouldn't
go through them all, and trust me, that doesn't even scratch
the surface. But it gives you a
very good starting point. So all you have to do
is ask Siri, what can I ask you? It will appear with this list
and you can explore and try new things with Siri. So now we will show you
how you can use Imessage and even the new animoji on
your iPhone X. So of course, go to the
Messages app and you'll be able to click on the
person you're looking to send a message to.

Now, if you want to send a
new message, just click Compose New Message right up
here at the top. Right? Now, of course, you can
type in Imessage or Text Message as usual. So you can say something
like hello, like that. Hit send. Or if you want to dictate a
message, then what you can do is you can use the
dictation button at the bottom of your keyboard. Look at this. Greetings. This is a dictated message. And then just click send. This is a dictated message
that you can send.

And it's actually pretty good. Siri is very good at
taking what you're trying to say and
actually translating it into an sms. Now, if you want to send an
emoji, just click on the bottom left area right here. And as you can see, there are
all kinds of great emojis you can send. For example, smiley face
and thumbs up. Now, Siri will also
predict what you want to say next. So if you take a look at this
top bar up here, it gives you some word suggestions
like hey, thank you, me, and like dude, that'll let you
autocomplete the sentences. Now, here comes the really
cool part. Beyond just
regular typing, which you can of course do
right here, you can also send pictures.

So you click that button and
you can upload or take pictures. But the best part is here
in the apps. So there are a few different things
you can do. There are all kinds of
different apps. You can go to the App Store
for Imessage, for various add-ons. You can find gifs here. So all you have to do
is ask. So something like happy. And you might find some
nice gifts that you might want to add. If you go here, you can make
an emoji, which we'll show you how to do in
a second. This is brand new. This is amazing. Digital Touch lets you
draw like this and send drawing messages like this. Music lets you share music
and YouTube lets you share YouTube videos. But if we go back to animoji,
I wanted to show you how this works because this is
really cool. Okay, so what you
need to do is align the face, bring
the face into view like this. Here we begin. So now, I actually have to
turn this back a little because it's a little difficult.

Good, good. Let's start. So now an emoji
will actually track your face like this. So look at this. Greetings. This is animoji. It's fun and exciting
to use and very easy, too. Greetings. This is animoji. It's fun and exciting
to use and very easy. So as you can see,
it imitates your face, what you are saying, and you
can just hit the thing. Now, obviously, I haven't put
much thought into that, but you can get really
creative here. There are all kinds of
different animojis that you can access, from cats to dogs
to pandas. It's really fun
and exciting to use, especially if you
're just trying to get out of the boring sms and
try something new.

All right. And one last thing I wanted
to show you too is if you're trying to
send a text like Let's party, or something
like that, if something's exciting, if I tap 3D on the
send, I can actually send with
different effects. So, for example, Slam, where
it crashes loudly where it pulls, or these
screen effects where, for example, it appears with a lot of different ones. There is a center of attention. There's confetti. This is perfect. So if we send this let's
celebrate, it will actually send confetti to them
too. Like that, confetti will rain down
on their Imessage. This is how you can use
Imessage and animoji to have a lot of fun.

I recommend
experimenting around, seeing what works, but
it can really spice up some of your conversations
and make them more exciting and fun. Now we will show you some of the
other apps that come installed on your iPhone X. We'll show you each of
them, but I recommend you experiment with them yourself
so you can really see how they work. Now, first, of course, we
of course, have Mail. We already showed you that the calendar
allows you to add calendar events to your phone. Just press a day
or click plus and you can add a new event. You can choose the time
it starts. This can also
sync with your Google Calendar as well as
your settings to make sure all
your events are available. Photos will show you
all the pictures you've taken with your phone. You can browse and
see them. Now, the camera. Here I want to point out a few
things. So of course you have a
neat photo here with your camera.

You just have to either press the
big white button on the bottom, which is the
camera button, and of course turn your phone for
landscape photos. Now you can also use the
Volume Up button to take photos as well. So if you want to hold
your phone like this, you can use Volume Up
and take the picture. Now there are several
different features at the top you can turn Flash on and off or
keep it on auto.

You also have the ability to
turn HDR photos on and off. So depending on the quality you
're really looking for, you can even turn on a timer. So if you want to place
your phone or have it on a stand, if you go to the top
right, you can also add different filters. So, depending on the type of
filter you're looking for, you can add filters right after you're
getting it as warm, dramatic. There are many different ones
to play with and choose from out there. Close it. Now in addition, you
also have the ability to zoom in and out just
by pinching your fingers so that you can zoom
in and out and change the focus point of
your photo just by tapping where you would
like it to be. your camera to focus. Then of course you get
the picture like that. Now if you want to take a
selfie and turn it around, you just press this button
on the bottom right and it will turn the
camera around to face you.

Now if you swipe on
you can access the video. And here you can take a
video with your phone. Of course you can turn it into a
landscape. You can record a
video just like this and just hit it again once
it's done. Slow motion video
is great for sports of this sort of
thing. Expiration time. If you turn this on, it will take
a bunch of photos over time and you can stitch them
together. You also have portrait mode
which will allow you to make your photos look a little better. They will explode a little. This is brand new with the iPhone
so you can go through, you can see studio lighting,
contour lighting, stage lighting. It's a lot of fun to
experiment with this. And this is best designed
if you are taking a selfie or a photo of someone. You can change the
lighting effects to make it look really cool. We have Square for Instagram
and then Panoramic where you can start a photo, turn the
camera like this and it will stitch it all together as one
big panoramic photo.

So this is the
photo app or camera app. Then we have the Maps app
where all you have to do is search for an address,
click Go and it will give you turn- by-turn directions. Like a GPS. You also have the
clock app where you can see the time in different places. You can set alarms
just by going to alarms and tapping Add alarm. You can even snooze
these alerts.

So say you wanted to get up
at the same time every weekday or every Monday. You can set it. You can change the sound. You can even choose whether
or not you want Snooze to be an option. And this is especially
valuable. Now that Face ID is how you
unlock your phone because if you turn off Snooze, you have to
look right at your phone to turn it off. No more reaching over to the side of
your bed and trying to hit the
snooze button with your hand to make sure you
wake up too.

It's a nice feature. Besides, we have time to
sleep. Now what this does is it
keeps track of when you go to bed and it sets
your wake up alarm and gives you a reminder. So really what
this is, is really tracking your sleep, making sure
you're getting the right amount of sleep every night, and setting an alarm
that will kind of correspond with that. Now the stopwatch allows you to
act visibly like a regular stopwatch, start,
stop, reset, whatever you need to do. And then the timer
works really well if you're cooking and
need to keep track of that. Okay, so for the weather,
this will tell you the weather in your current location
.

Of course, it will give you the
current weather, it will give you the days ahead of the weather, the highs and
lows. News will show you the
latest trending stories. At this point in time, Home lets you connect any
smart lights, smart locks , any smart technology
you happen to have in your home. Now notes, this is
really cool. You can keep track of
what you are thinking just by writing in notes. So this is a note and
it will add all these saved to
your notes section on your phone.

Now you can also
draw on these notes as well so you can
keep track of whatever you're thinking about. You can put down lists,
say for example, a grocery list, whatever it happens
to be, and then just click done. And then the note is waiting for you
right there on your phone. Now the shares, of course, very
self-explanatory. It allows you to track whatever
stocks you are invested in. Check open,
high and low volume, all the different things you're
trying to track in your stock portfolio. Reminders allows you to
save reminders for yourself. I have a few sets, so I
won't go there now. But you can add a
brand new reminder. You can say, remind me at
05:00. To start cooking dinner. Something along these lines. Here's the
TV app, the app store we'll
get into later. iTunes. The store is for
music ibooks. You can read any type of
digital ebook you have on your phone. The Health app lets you
track your fitness over time.

You can also add in
a medical ID, which I recommend doing
as well. If you have allergies or any
kind of medical condition, you can add it in there. And that way if someone
finds you in a situation where you have your phone, you can just
show them your medical ID card. Apple Wallet naturally has
your credit card numbers stored in it so
you can easily just use your
credit card when you're tapping your phone at one
of these credit card terminals . Now again, I also
recommend of course to take Dosh. We showed you how to get
this earlier in the video so that when you use that
credit card at those places, you 'll earn that cash back.

So this is bitlyusdosh
just want to mention again, now that we are going
through the parameters of the wallet, we will dive into a little later,
but this has everything you may need to change or
want to change with your iPhone . We downloaded the
YouTube app separately, but I definitely recommend downloading
this app. We'll show you how to
download these apps later in this video
as well when we show you the App Store. But of course, YouTube is
great for watching all kinds of videos. We already went on the
phone. Safari Messages music naturally lets you
listen to your music library that
you've synced from iTunes. FaceTime is pretty cool because you
can actually video message someone. So if you go to FaceTime
and select their phone number or their
imessage account, you can actually video chat with them. Podcasts lets you listen to
your favorite podcasts. The Calculator app allows you
to do simple calculations and a pro tip is
actually. If you turn it on its side like this, you get a
more complex calculator where you can do a lot more with it.

Now Watch, if you have an Apple
Watch, and if you have an Apple Watch, I recommend watching
our Apple Watch complete Beginners Guide video. We'll put a link
down in the description if you're interested that will
tell you everything you need to know about pairing
your Apple Watch using your Apple Watch and how
it works. This is a whole video in
itself and it actually is a video. So if you're interested,
if you have an Apple Watch, you can check this out. The links below have
all the different files you have saved on your phone.

Clips allows you to get
different video clips. GarageBand has a Key for
Presentation Numbers, which is basically like Excel or
Numbers for Mac. Sites where you can write as a
word processor. Imovie, you can edit
movies together. iTunes you have a lot of
great resources and then here too, we also have
Quick Thoughts and Dosh, two amazing apps that we
show you in this video. And in the case of Quick Thoughts,
I'll post the link below. It's Bit Lee Getquickthoughts
where you can get paid just for taking surveys. This cool app we showed
is one of our previous videos as well. So anyway, those are
all the different apps you have here. We have a few more. Such as compass tips,
voice memos, Your Contacts app and find my iPhone.

I recommend enabling
Find My iPhone, which we'll show you how to do a little
later. That way, if you ever
lose your iPhone, you can easily track it down and
find it again, and the market is lost. Okay, so this is just
a quick overview of all the
stock apps on your phone. I recommend exploring by
trying it out for yourself, but this should be at least a
baseline of how each app works, and then you
can really dive into it on your own time as well. Now we will show you how you
can download additional applications for your phone in the
App Store. Let's take a look. So now we're going to show you
how you can use the App Store to download
additional apps for your device.

So you're going to go
directly to the App Store right here, and as you can see, you can
browse through some suggested apps. You can go to the
Games tab, which will have all kinds of
fun games that you can play. Tab Apps has all kinds of
useful apps. Now what I recommend is
to take a look at some of their curated lists of
Great on iPhone X, and these are some examples of some
apps that you might want to download like
Netflix, DoorDash, Twitter, all kinds of
wonderful applications.

Now we also have many
apps on this channel and App Find YouTube channel. And we'll be coming out with a video
on the best iPhone X apps very soon, so
make sure you stay tuned for that. Also make sure to
subscribe to the channel because that way you will get a
notification when the new video is released. So subscribe and click the
bell icon to get a notification when
we post that video on iPhone X. Best Apps. Now, another
great way to find the best apps is
to go to this apps tab and scroll down until you
see Top Free right here. Click. See all. And it will give you a
pretty good indication of all the apps you
want to download like YouTube, Instagram, facebook
messenger, google maps, Netflix, Target, Spotify, Amazon, Gmail,
Uber. These are all the
best free apps. And it's a good indicator of
what you should probably download to your phone
because these are the most popular apps for you to get
any value out of these.

So again, I
recommend going to the top free apps scrolling down,
and then just downloading any of these top free apps
that you think will be useful for your phone. So now that we're on the App Store,
this is a great time to show you the
second sponsor of the complete iPhone X beginner's guide, which
is ibada. Now, this app can be
used in addition to Doshi, and this app allows you to earn
cashback every time you go grocery shopping. Now, this app is a little
different because instead of it happening automatically like
Dosh does, this app actually gives you coupons for when you go to the
grocery store.

After you go shopping,
all you have to do is scan your receipt and
get instant cash back. So, this other app
lets you earn cash back every time you shop at the
grocery store. It's incredible. You can earn instant cash
just for shopping at your favorite stores

stack this with coupons you can usually use,

we'll show you exactly how to use. You can at least get the

do is open up your mobile Safari browser, open
a new tab like this, and you're going to go to this exact URL. It's bit lee B-I-T-L-Y Get ibotabonus.

Like this bitlygetibottabonus,
you have to put in that exact URL to get that
$10 bonus just for signing and scanning your first receipt

the link down there in the description. We also have it on the
screen, it is Bit Leegetibadabonus that will
make sure that you are actually able to get this bonus. As you can see, the ibada has
over 688,000 ratings. Five solid stars. You can't get any better than
that. This is an incredible app
that helps you save money. As you can see, you can
earn real money. Thousands of sellers across the
country. You can earn money just
for shopping in the store. So, once we have downloaded
this ibota app, we can go ahead and open it. Now, you can see here that
we have the ibota app loading just like that.

And as you can see, you can
get cash on everyday purchases. Now, because you
used our link, you can actually join and
get a $20 welcome bonus. So it's usually
$10. But since you used
our link, Bit Leegetabonus, you can go ahead and
get that $20 bonus right there, and then we
can go ahead and sign up. So let's go ahead
and sign up for an account and show you inside ibota. So as you can see,
now that we are in the app, you can see how easy it
is to earn cash. You can see that you actually
earn cash back on things like Lyft and Uber rides
best Buy $10 cash back on Limited time deals. 6% on Amazon. You can browse through
here. It has a wide variety,
but it also allows you to save money in
different stores as well. You can go through here. 75 cents on Uber. I mean, that's easy
if I use Uber. Anyway, shepherd's pie, a
dollar 22. So let's say you wanted
this. Just click on it and you can
say here, you can see that you can buy the shepherd's pie, the
Greek yogurt, the pumpkin and the spices.

It looks good to me. Continue. Click plus. And then you can add it
to your cart. And then when you go
ahead and buy that item, then what you'll be
able to do is get that $22
back. All you have to do is
scan the bar code and receipt and you'll get that cash
back. And don't forget, just
because you used Bit leegetibatabonus, not only
will you get cash for whatever you're
going shopping for, you 'll also go ahead
and get a $20 and raised $20 bonus only to
redeem that first cashback rabe at any of these
stores. You can see there is a
wide variety here. Now let's take a look at
Walmart for a second here. So let's say you were
going to Walmart. There were some things you want to
get already.

They have some of these. Any brand agreement. You can see any brand of
toilet paper, $0.25 back. Any brand of pie, Pop Tarts,
$0.50 back, right? Hot Pockets, any diaper brand,
any item, just present a grocery store receipt, $0.10
back. These are things you will buy
anyway. You have a family or even you
are just shopping for yourself. You can see here that there is
a wide variety of different things. Kleenex, a dollar back,
right? You can browse through
here. Oreos Bagel Bites pancake mix. Colgate. Right. These are the name brand items you
would have bought anyway so you can go ahead
and get cash. But here is a
big secret. You can go ahead and
use it. Any grocery store receipt
or any toilet paper item or whatever you
happen to buy, you can use this. Any grocery bill, scan the
receipt for cash back. You can see that this is
available not only at Walmart, but Wegmans aims for
a wide variety stop and store.

CVS, right? You can use this
to get that cash back , but also the $20 bonus
for signing up, using Bit
leegetibatabonus and then scanning your first receipt
and earning your cash back. Now, let's say you don't
have a family or shop at the grocery store that much
. You can also do this at
convenience stores like 711 Kmart. CVS so let's say we
wanted to search for CVS. So we search here for
CVS, like see we have CVS. We click on CVS in the store and
you can also get this for things like gum
variety of different things at CVS. I would have to browse and
find them. But there are a
wide variety of different cashback options
that you can get. So you don't have to go
shopping to do it.

But it is clear that this is
an easy way to get it. So you can get
instant cash back and a $20 bonus by going to
Bit Lee, get the ibotabonus link down there in the
description and on the screen and just redeem your
first cashback rebate. Enjoy. Now we will show you how you
can organize your apps on your iPhone. So, to access the setup,
just press and hold an app icon. And as you can see here, it will
put them into Wiggle mode just like that. Now to move them, just
press and drag and you can move to different places
like this.

You can now move things
in and out of your port. Let's say you want your Mail app
to be in the dock at the bottom of your screen. You can just drag it
down and then click Done. And now the mail app
is right there at the bottom of every screen, easily
accessible. Now, if we go back into that
mode by pressing and holding, we can also delete the
apps we don't want. Now I'm actually not going to do that
right now because I love all the different apps
I have. However, if you were to delete
an app, just click the little Xbox and it will
delete the app itself.

Then click Done to
finalize your changes. Now, one last thing. If you want to put some
of your apps together in a folder, just
drag an app onto another app and it will
create a folder for you. If you take a look here, you can
also change the name in Settings, in YouTube, plus
Settings, whatever you want. These would not normally be
looped together and to get it out, just
pull it right out of that folder and it will bring
it back to normal.

So I just wanted to
quickly show you how you can reorganize your apps,
put them in folders, and also delete them
if you want. To finish our video,
we wanted to show you some of the settings that you can change
and customize for your iPhone. Now, there are a lot of tweaks to
your iPhone X, so I recommend taking a look and
seeing what you're interested in changing. However, we're going to
kind of take a peek, show you some of the things
that are possible. But there is much more than we have
time to get to today. So I still recommend
going in and trying it out for yourself. But anyway, we will
show you some of the best ones that you should change. Now right at the top here, you
'll see your name along with your Apple ID, iCloud,
iTunes, and App Store. If you were to click on this, you'll
be able to reset your Apple ID,
change things about iCloud and how it
loads. So there are a few different things
related to your personal account. Now, below that, you'll
see airplane mode, WiFi, bluetooth, and cellular.

These are all things you
can access from the Control Center as well. They're also
conveniently located here in the
Settings app. Now, here's where we get into some
cool stuff like notifications. So if we click on
Notifications, you can see when you want
submissions to appear. And that's actually pretty
cool because that means if you have
your phone just like that, it won't show
previews until it's unlocked. It will not show sms that just
arrived. I recommend having
previews show when unlocked because it means you have to
look at your phone in order to see previews,
not someone else that prevents people from snooping.

You've had If you had
notifications turned on and a notification appeared on your screen
and it hasn't been opened yet, anyone looking at your phone
can see it. But now notifications won't
appear until you look at your phone and
unlock it. So I recommend you
keep it with you when it's unlocked. It may be a different environment,
so I recommend changing this to when unlocked.

Now, if you scroll
down here, you can take a look at each individual app and
change the settings for notifications. Let's take a look at the App Store. As you can see here, you
can choose whether or not you want any notifications at all. Notifications, of course, is what
pops up shows what each application is
trying to tell you, such as there is an update
available, someone has sent you sms that kind of thing. The badge app icon
is the counter next to the app that tells you if
there are unread messages in Imessage. If there are updates in the App
Store, this is the icon. You can turn these off
individually. You can also choose
if you want this on the lock screen in your story or
even to show as banners and banners,
of course, pop up like this right as you are using
your device. Now, temporary is
the default where they appear and then close immediately. Persistent means that they
will actually stay on the screen until you
manually dismiss them by scrolling.

Now, this can be used if
you want to make sure that every sms or email that's
important, you can make sure that they go to
Persistent to make sure that when they show up, you actually
acknowledge them and they don't disappear only by myself. So this is the
notification app. We already showed you how the
Control Center worked, where you can customize the
control center in one of the previous sections of this video. Now. Don't worry. I recommend
enabling this because of course, this means
when you turn on Do Not Disturb from your control center
and actually enabling it is turning it off from the
control center as well. Sorry there. So turn on Do Not
Disturb when you don't want to receive calls or texts
and make it buzz your phone or give an
alarm or have a ringtone on your phone, you can't be
disturbed during that time period.

Now, another cool thing
here is that you can also program as well. So let's say you don't want to be
disturbed at bedtime. You can change this
every time you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning,
and this way you will not actually receive notifications or Ringtones play when you are
asleep. Now, you can see here
whether you want it to be silent always or when your phone
is locked. I chose Always because
if I'm doing something on my phone that's
important I turn on Do Not Disturb. I still don't want those messages
coming, so I recommend changing this to Always,
unless you want it to be only when your phone is
unlocked.

Now, here's a very
nice feature. You can allow calls
from your Favorites list. So if you add people to
your Favorites, which we showed you how to do earlier
by adding people from your contacts to the
phone app, you can make sure that those calls
actually go through your phone even when Do Not
Disturb is on. So you can do this
for your spouse, you can do this for your children.
You can do this for your best friend or
business partner, whatever, to make sure
their calls actually go through. Now, another thing I
recommend turning on is repeat calls. So if someone calls you
twice in three minutes, then it will actually postpone that
call. It is something that is
important. And this is a
useful feature because if someone is trying to contact you in
an emergency, you probably want to be notified by that. And again, don't worry
while driving. You can turn this to
Automatic. So you can have this
always on while you're driving, or you
can have it manually, which means you have to
turn on Do Not Disturb while driving right from the
Control Center like you normally would with regular Do Not
Disturb.

Then, we have some
other fixes. If we go to General, you
can see that there is software update so that you can
make sure that your iPhone is always up to date. If there is another update
to install, just click Install and it will
add it to your phone. There are a few more here, but
I wanted to highlight iPhone Storage. Now, iPhone Storage shows you
all the different apps on
your phone how much space they're taking up and lets you get rid of them
if they're not useful. For example, GarageBand, this
is 1.69gb. We can delete the app
right from here to free up that space on
your phone.

So this is a
good way to see what is taking up the most space on
your device. Now, if you go out there, you can
also see here, there are ways you can customize the
keyboard. There are also limitations. So if this is a phone
for your kids, you can enable restrictions on some
things here as well, if you don't want them to have
inapp purchases, different things along those lines. Now, if we go back, you
can see that there is also a show and a glow. Now, this has the
regular display tweaks, but another big feature to
take a look at is Down Here, which is
text size. So if you need the
text size on your phone to be a little
bigger, you can actually just slide the slider and
all the text on your phone will change, which
is a really great feature. if you need it
for your viewing. Same with
bold text, you can incorporate that too. Now, with Auto Lock, that's
something I'm actually going to change myself.

It is set for 30 seconds of
inactivity and the phone will automatically turn off and
shut down. I'm actually going to change this to
a minute, but you can do anywhere from 30 seconds to five
minutes to never. I would never recommend
because then your phone might stay on
forever or not forever but your phone
might stay on until the battery dies and that
's not good.

So I would recommend
anywhere from 30 seconds to five minutes wherever works. I like to keep it around a
minute to three minutes, but especially now with the Face ID recognition we
showed you earlier. Actually a shorter time is
quite good because it means it is always
trying to see when you are looking at it and it starts
counting from the moment it looks away. So we come back here, you
can see that it was Display and Brightness. We already showed you the
wallpaper and how it worked before in this video. Haptics now sound too. It allows you to change the
ringtone, change the tone of the text.

You can add your
ringtone type to favorites, for specific people here
as well. It has some
nice features to play with. Now there are some Siri fixes. You can actually change
Siri to a different voice, a male voice. If you want, you can
also change your information here. Teach Siri how to pronounce
your name. There are some pretty
cool features in there too. Now, we already showed you Face
ID and Passcode Emergency, SOS I highly recommend
enabling this just in case. Hopefully you never have to
use it. Now we also have batteries. You can see the
low power mode at the top, but you can also see
what different apps are using, how much battery,
so you can see what really is a
big battery user on your phone. We of course have privacy as
well where you can change some privacy settings
for each individual app, limit what they have
access to, change itunes and the App Store, wallet and Apple
Pay.

You can add
credit cards in and then you have all the
different applications that you have installed on your phone and
their different settings. So this is the
tweaks app. There's a lot to play with, but
these are the main features out there. I hope you found
