– David and David here. Out of the box, your iPhone comes with a bunch of pernicioussettings turned on, that most of all will drainyour I-phones battery life. If you liked our video, 7 iPhone Settings, YouNeed to Turn Off Now, you’ll like this one because we got a few new ones to talk about. – Right, things have changed.Especially since the last video, we “ve learned that” some of the defines, even if they’re the same settles have moved to different places. – Yeah.- Makes dive in. -[ David On Right] I’ll openthe specifies app in my iPhone. Scroll down and we’regoing to start in privacy. Tap privacy. At the priorities in the screen, sound point services and scroll down to system works. There’s a violet arrow right there. -[ David On Left] What does that mean? – Bad sign once? It meant that an app or service is currently used your place or has very recently employed or point. So I’m gonna tap on plan assistances. We’ve got a lot of switchesturned on by default and we wanna put off most them. – We sure do. Apple pay merchant identification: Off. Sell network search: Off. Is this still gonnasearch for cell networks and connect to them? Yes.- Yes.- Most of these settingslike setting time zone, cell system search, networking and wireless. All of these things have todo with adjusting the route that your iPhones and tennis toil when you go to other countries. So unless you’re going to other countries, turn these things off. -[ David On Right] So theones we’re actually gonna recommend leaving on. Let’s switch off that, switch off that, leave on disaster calls and SOS. Leave on, find my iPhone Home Kit?( upbeat music) Turn it off. Location based alarms, suggestions, action calibration, and length. Turn that off. Networking and wireless: Turn that off. – This talks about ultra wide band. Apple recently released for theiPhone 11 and the iPhone 12, a U1 chip. And that is GPS at thescale of your living room. Their paroles , not ours. Meaning, that if I wantto airdrop to somebody, I can part my phone at David’s phone. And then David will be thefirst person that appears on that list. If you’re in a busy office, I can see how that would be helpful because you might get airdrop suggestions with a whole assortment of people. But if you’re not, turn thisoff and save battery life. – I’ll tap turn off. Setting terms zone, letoffice share my location? – I don’t use it.- Okay. System customizationoff and wifi, announcing. Turn that off. Wifi calling will still use. – You gotta ask yourself: Are you traveling to another country where wifi calling iscalibrated differently? That’s the only reasonto leave these things on. It has nothing to do with the actual wifi calling where you live.- Next, let’s talk aboutsignificant places. Go onward and tap on that. You’ll check a listing of places youvisit often that Apple saves exercising your spot, draining battery life. A little bit bizarre, Iget a little weirded out when I see this. I didn’t even retain goingto Queensbury, New York. But then I inspected up on the map and I was like, “Oh yeah, it was there.” It was kind of weird thatApple recollects And I don’t. – Yeah. – So— Well , nothing remembers if they go to Queensbury New York, David. – So only sounds the switchat the top of the screen to turn off significant locations. And tap, turn off. You wanna clear this history list? Just sound clear autobiography here on the screen. – Right. – Next let’s tap back inthe upper left hand corner of the screen and scroll down here to product increase. Go ahead and turn all these off. – Only if they’re give you. If Apple’s you tohelp improve their products, leave it on. But for me, they can improvetheir own gosh darn traffic. – Yeah, we are not fortunate enough to be being paid by Apple, – Right? – And, but we’d love to be, you know. Hey, I’ll turn these on. Improve maps. There’s no way that my iPhone’s place is gonna do sufficient to conclude Apple Maps as good as Google Maps.I’m sorry, it’s just not gonna work– – Well, perhaps you are able to turn it on and assisted them improve their planneds. – Maybe I’m the reason whytheir delineates aren’t as good. I don’t think so.- Perhaps. In the upper left handcorner of the screen we’ll precisely invoice back. And here are all the mainpage of point assistances. The next thing you wanna do is look through your list of apps, and gape solely for the word always. This symbolizes an app alwayshas access to your site and it can drain your battery really fast. For sample, I turnedon DraftKings’ spot, setting up for a video. I drove back up I8 7. And during that drive DraftKings squandered my location 32 hours. – Right, that’s incredible. They’re just always checkingto see where you are. – Not certainly. I’m not record contestswhile I’m driving in my gondola. – That’s good. – So I’ll tap on DraftKings, for example. So they were need your location while. You’re actually employing theapp and participating contests. I’m gonna switch thattoo while squandering the app. – Yeah, pretty much everything from ever swapped itto well working the app. You’re going to save battery life. – Yeah, I’ll tap back one more time. One other illustration Iwanna point out is SEFCU. SEFCU always has access to my orientation. Not inevitably, but you want to be wary of maybe apps thataren’t as well developed accessing your location.- Right, and you may not know what SEFCU is, weirdo. SEFCU is David’s bank.- Yes. – Local credit union. Why would they always needaccess to David’s location? – To how nearby ATM’s. – I approximates ever, but thatwould be while using the app. I has got no idea why theyalways need his site. I think that, as David said, it was just a development team that didn’t know what they were doing.- So I’m gonna tap never now. They don’t need my site. – Let’s get into somethingkind of contentious here, personalized ads. And it’s been amazing, the amount of pushback we’ve gotten from peoplewho want to see ads( mob hearten) that are tailored to them. Let’s dive in here.- Yeah, so I’ll tap back upper left-hand corner of the screen. Tap back to privacy, scrolldown now to Apple Advertising. – Personalized ads. If you wanna seeinformation about yourself, you can tap on view adtargeting information. But in my own experience, there really isn’t a lot ofstuff in there, if anything. But they are still targeting me. Personalized ads. Parties suppose, “Okay, if I turn this off, I’m gonna see all these reallylow quality shitty ads.” But that’s not necessarily true, because only because theycan’t tell that you went to the Airbnb App, and now you’re playing a game and you envision an advertisement for the same exact place or Amazon, the same products.Doesn’t mean that you’re not gonna get relevant ads at all. It really means that they’re gonna use other targeting criteria. Life if you’re on an iPhone help website, you’re gonna realize adsabout iPhone artilleries. Not about Cancun, if youwanted to go to Cancun. So a good deal of the time, I are happy to just turn thisoff because I still assure ads, but they’re almost morerelevant to what I’m looking at. And then Airbnb, isn’tlike trying to target me.’ Cause a lot of the timesI go on that website and I merely wanna go someplace, but I don’t really wanna spend money. – Also, if advertisers haveless information about you, then you become less valuable to them, they may actually target you less. – Exactly. You may ensure fewer ads. But they won’t tell you that. – Long story short, turnoff personalized ads. And while we expect to get a lot of observes about that, that’s fine.- Calm down !( gang chitchatting) – Yeah well, I don’t wanna look crappy ads. This is not what’s gonna happen. – Next, let’s tap back to privacy in the upper left-handcorner of the screen. One above Apple Advertisingis analytics and improvements. – It’s amazing how much datais constantly being ship from your iPhone to Apple andother app makes. And what’s funny is that they keep building in brand-new buttons now when they get caught doingsomething they shouldn’t. Like the improved Siriand Dictation thing. They were just sendingpeople’s conversations to their servers for analysis. – Yeah.- But now you can opt out of that. So every time you do this, you time retain likeimprove Siri and Dictation. The only way that’s gonna happen is if they send audio enters fromyour telephone to their servers. That’s gonna exert battery life. – So I’ll time sounds the button. Also, turns off datacollection on your Apple Watch. Two for one gratuity there. I’m just gonna startturning off these switches. There we go. The last thing in privacy: Let’s tap back in the upperleft hand corner of the screen.Scroll all the way up and sound on tracking. This is the allow apps to request a road, stands apps to apps toask to track your act across other company’s apps and websites. That’s a little bit of a mouthful. – You know who doesn’tlike this setting, David? – Facebook. – Facebook “doesnt like” the place because whenever you open Facebook App for the first time afteryou update your iPhone, it’s gonna say, “Hey, Facebook would like to track you everywhere you go.” And a cluster of other creepy trash. And then you have to opt into it now. It’s not just automaticallyturned on for Facebook. – Nobody’s gonna say yes to that. Nobody’s gonna say yes to that. Yeah, and Facebook wouldlike to see everything about what you’re doing online, so that they can sell you as aproduct to their advertisers. When you consider ads, it is Facebook selling you, selling traffic to advertisers. If you’re not gettin’ a section ofthat, I would turn this off. – All right, well I’m gonnago ahead and turn that off. That’s it for the privacysection of the defines app. – But wait, there’s more! – The next thing we’re gonna talk about is in-app ratings and assess. I’m sure most people watching this video have downloaded an app for the first time, opened it for the first time. And the first thing they verify: Can you write us a review? How numerous virtuosoes did you contribute us? And it’s like, “I don’t know, I haven’t ill-used the app before.” – I know, yeah, how amI supposed to do this? Likewise, have you ever done it? I’ve done it like twice.I generally say no.- I say no as well. I picture most people do. – Let’s head back to privacy in the upper left-handcorner of the screen, back to settings. One below privacy, you appreciate App Store. Tap on that and look forin-app ratings and reviews. Help makes and otherusers know what you think by letting apps, ask for product feedback. – Right, turn that substitution right off. You can always go andleave a review for an app if you feel so inclined, but now it’s on your periods. You’re not gonna see thatannoying little pop-up. I like to turn this off. – And now in a callou twisting of absurdity.( dramatic symphonic music) Please give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to our channel. It’s kind of like anin-app ready interview. But— It’s more like a in-video rating and review.- Yes! – Absolutely, please do. – Would help us a lot.- Only 4% of people subscribe. Please subscribe. – Yes, next thing we’retalking about is push mail. I’m gonna tab back to settings. Upper left hand corner of thescreen, and scroll down here, and sounds on mail. Then tap accountings, andthen tap fetch new data. Right now, I have mail set to push. – Right, one of thebiggest battery drainers on iPhone was push on. Your iPhone is constantly questioning: “Is their mail, is their mail, is their mail, ” to the mail server. But with push mail off, your iPhone will choose how often to retrieve the mail from the server. So for most people, every 15 minutes to check or wheneverthey open the Mail App is more than often enough. – Yeah, so I’ll turn offthe switch next to push at the top of the screen. And then I’ll define every 30 minutes. I don’t do a lot of emailon my iPhone regardles. The next thing we wanna talk about is background app refresh. This lets apps download brand-new content in the backdrop of your iPhone. So the next time you open your app, it’s a assortment of freshcontent in front of you. – Right, do you open all ofyour apps every single day? I certainly don’t. Do I miss all of thoseapps that I never opened, ever downloadingcontent in the background, which is gonna drain my battery and too use cellular data? I don’t think so.So you might wanna havethis on for one or two apps. Let’s choose. – Yep, I’ll tap back to accounts. Upper left hand corner of the screen. Back to forward, back to themain page of the trains app. We’re gonna scroll up and sounds general. Then we’re going to tabbackground app refresh. First thing to do, tapone background app fresh at the top of the screen. Do you want cellulardata to be use by apps to download new material inthe background of your iPhone? Probably not.- Nope. – We recommended preferring wifi. I’ll tap back. And here’s a list of allyour apps that can download new content in thebackground of your iPhone? I believe by default it is all of them. – Yeah, it is all of them. For instance, Note: Notation might be a good one because you want records to be able to download the notes so thatwhen you open the Note App, it’s not gonna like haveto loading a listing of a hundred if you haven’t opened it in a while. But a lot of things likeFacebook could be downloading all sorts of stuff in the background.Instagram idols, anything like that, you might wanna only put off. Anything that’s amessenger type of an app, you might wanna leave on ifthat’s a concern for you. – Yeah, so let’s go through such lists and you know, find what works for you. – All right. You’ll say battery life, you’ll save cellular data. The cost of this is maybehaving to wait a second or two when you open the app for it to download. I turn them off, it’s gonna entirely. Turn most of’ em off. – And those are some iPhonesettings you should turn off. Now give this video a thumbs up.- Yeah.- Expressed support for our path. – We is actually, truly, actually, actually appreciate it if you would subscribe.- And then share this video with nine of your friends. Tell them to share it withnine of their friends, like a pyramid planned. People at the top, getall the subscribers. – That’s not a pyramid planned, David. That’s, multilevel marketing. – Totally different things.- Totally different. – Using a multi-tiered distribution, multi-level marketing Invigaron system.Multilevel .( bellow clapping) – Invigaron, yeah. – Cool. All privilege, huge. – Thanks for watching.- Thanks for watching ..
